Track Systems

Track

The track and carrier suspension system is often overlooked when people consider buying accordion doors. If the system is inadequate to support the door weight, it can pull away from its attachment or the door will become difficult to operate. If the track pieces are misaligned, the carrier wheels can be cut or gouged from the track joints. If the track is not anodized it can pit or become permanently discolored over time.

All Hufcor suspension systems are designed to provide adequate support and easy operation for the life of your partition. The track and carrier system allows the carriers (trollies) to easily move in the track without binding or excessive pulling on the door, which could cause damage.

Our heavy duty aluminum tracks accommodate various ceiling conditions and provides sufficient support for each door. In addition, the aluminum is clear anodized to eliminate rub marks and discoloration that can occur with mill finish aluminum overtime. Each piece of track has a key or alignment pin receptacle to help perfectly align it with the adjacent piece of track.

Type 15 Aluminum Track

Our most popular track has built-in "ceiling saver". The ceiling saver is a flange on both sides of the track to protect the ceiling from rub marks from the top sweepstrips when the door is moved. Without the protection of the ceiling saver, rubbing can permanently mar the ceiling. Type 15 track is designed to directly screw into a wood header, or, it can also accommodate a suspension bracket that allows it to be suspended from hanger rods. Type 15 may be used for all accordion models but is most often used with acoustical models.

University of North Texas

Unispan

Unispan is a support system for accordion or operable partitions. It is used in rooms lacking the overhead support to carry the weight required for partitions. The system consists of a horizontal truss and two vertical posts that support a partition independent of the building. The posts transfer the partition weight to the floor and the weight is dispersed with floor pads installed under the posts. The system is attached to the building with bracing which is needed for lateral support only. See Unispan for more information.
